Doug Thompson is CEO of Remedy Communications, a full-service marketing agency based in Toronto with affiliate offices in the U.S. and U.K. Remedy works with clients to develop educational and branded campaigns that encompass traditional, social and immersive media. Remedy’s clients include Fortune 500 companies such as Pfizer, Genentech, and AstraZeneca, the armed services, universities and cause marketers. Remedy recently celebrated its 10th with its in-house team of writers, designers, artists, project managers and virtual world technologists.

Remedy is a highly active developer in virtual worlds. Remedy owns and operates Metanomics™, a weekly broadcast on the serious uses of virtual worlds, filmed from Second Life. Metanomics covers the case studies, policy implications, adoption patterns, research and technologies related to the metaverse. Remedy is a value-added reseller of Immersive Workspaces™, a leading “plug-and-play” enterprise-level virtual world collaboration platform. Remedy is currently working on virtual world and related projects with multiple branches of the US Military, pharmaceutical clients, and the Financial Standards Research Initiative, amongst others.

Doug has worked for 17 years in marketing, education, research and advertising, primarily in the healthcare field. He publishes a popular blog on virtual worlds called Dusan Writer’s Metaverse (http://dusanwriter.com).
